This way you’ll always be there while he’s finding his feet. During the holidays is ideal - providing of course you’re at home and not on vacation. Don’t bring a new dog home and then pack him off to a boarding kennel while you take a three-week cruise. You need to have at least a couple of days at home, and help him overcome any separation anxiety he may experience.
When we bring a new baby home, we make heaps of preparations where we buy all the things we’ll need for the babies needs, training a puppy should be no different. Having a different number of legs shouldn’t mean you get less priority.
